A Big Good Bye Thank You

Here is my last card as the Guest Designer for Ooh La La Creations Blog.  The scene is is from their own store of downloads.  Isn't is so cute?  Don't you with you were there having a little lunchon your back patio?  I wish I had a little scene like this to escape to.
I just want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Ooh La La for even thinking about me and picking me as a guest designer.  I was so honored.

Kolby's Birthday Card

A birthday boy will be turning 9 years old pretty soon.  I used CPS #172 Sketch.  All I did was turn the sketch on it's side. The color combo I thought was perfect for a young boys card.  It came from Diva Coffee Break Designs Challenge #182.   I embossed the number 9 with my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder.  I got the idea to give it dimension from   Allsorts Challenge #58 - they asked for embossing - it was a perfect idea.

I was going to use die cut alphabets for the happy birthday and then I saw that Pile It On Challenge #24 wanted stickers to be used and I thought yea.. I bet I have a Happy Birthday sticker.  I have tons and after going through them I found the perfect one.  Same color combo pretty much.   The last two challenges I'll enter the card in will be Sew Many Challenge #19 - Anything Goes , Charisma Cardz Challenge #25 - For the boys and Polka Doodle Challenge #25-  boy's birthday

Well I hope he likes it but then he's 9 I am sure he will be more interested in what's in the wrapping than what the card looks like.  That is fine with me cuz he is a great kid.  Love him lots.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!

P.S  NOT ONE STAMP WAS HARMED OR USED IN THE MAKING OF THIS CARD!.. LOL.. HAHA

You Rock My World

I made this birthday card for a couple challenges.  Yesterday as soon as I saw the sketch at Cards for Men Challenge #13 I knew I wanted to use it.  I have quite a few birthdays coming up in July so I thought I better get started.  Come to think about it, I think they are all guys/boys.  My BFF has three of her boy's birthdays coming up in July and all in a row. I guess Oct was a very "ACTIVE" *wink* *wink* month for her.   LOL.

I ended up turning the sketch on it's side but I think it all turned out great.   The color combo I took from The Corrosive Challenge #69.  It is to use Black and White then add one other color.  Incy Wincy Designs Challenge #47 wanted us to incorporate Music into our card.  It's funny how I have a mental inventory of everything I own.  I can tell you if I have a certain kind of paper or if I have that stamp you could use.  So when I was putting this card together I just knew I had paper with music on it.  Sure enough with a little digging I found it, and the background was black so it was meant to be.  Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge #2 asked us to use ribbon as a border.  I can't believe I found the perfect color orange to match everything but there it is.  Even though this card will be for a guy it is ok to put ribbon on  it - Right?  It's not a girly thing is it?  Well last but not least Polka Doodles Week #24 Challenge is to make a card for a man/guy.  Got that covered.

I sure do hope anybody that stops by enjoys my cards as much as I enjoy making them and mostly giving them.

Have a wonderful Tuesday.

Just for Angel

I really can't get into it but my BFF's mom has been struggling with an illness.  I ask all the time how she is doing and keep track of the progress but I have never made a card for her and told her myself.  So here is a card for Angel.  Yep that's her name.
I took the sketch from Little Papershop  LPSC72 Challenge .  I also love pink and brown together and Just Us Girls Challenge #38 was perfect.  They had a color challenge of just those colors and add "Vanilla" with the two other colors.  Since I'm using Ice Cream Colors Papertake Weekly Challenge right now is to use Ice Cream Colors.  Sir Stamp A Lot's June Challenge is to use Punches.  The whole card is punches.  Do you love my ribbon punch.  I found that in a clearance pile a while ago and hoped I would never have to use it.

I stamped the inside with a Hero Arts Stamp called Dot Flourish Border and added some little bling.

I hope every Dad out there had a wonderful FATHER'S DAY
and to everyone else
HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEK.

Very Simple Card

It has been a very rough day today so just going to get right to my card and the challenges.  I went to HL today and on the clearance rack was this Penny Black stamp.  It is called Constellations but it looks like Dandelions.  No matter what it was only $3.75 so what a buy.  The Blue and Brown DP papers is from Martha Stewart.  WalMart is re-doing all their stores in AZ so tons are on clearance there.  the 12x12 paper pads were only $4 and the 8x8 were 1$.  I stamped the image and then put some bling on some of the circles.   I used the sketch from The Corrosive Challenge #128    The colors I choose were from Stampin 411 Challenge #128

Summer of 1970 fun!

I have a friend that her husband use to have a VW bus when he was in his twenties.  I thought this card would be perfect for a fun Father's Day card for him.  Maybe it'll bring back some great memories.

As soon as I saw the TCP Tuesdsay #114 Sketch challenge I knew I was going to enter it.  Why?  Cuz I love the SU Top Note die cut.  My BFF bought it for me for my birfday.  She's the greatest.   Then I ran into the Delightful Color Inspiration DCI1 Challenge.  I loved the picture they are using for our inspiration and it went so perfect with the idea I had going.  I love those colors.  I love black and purple .  I wish I could tell you more about the card but nothing earth shattering.  Bazzill card stock, the stamp I bought from ABC Craft Store.  It's from Helz Cuppleditch called Flower Power Camper Van.  I've seen this stamp in a few cards and fell in love with it.  The flower and dots are stickers from Creative Imaginations.  I didn't take a picture of the inside but it also has a Top Note die cut in white and says " You're Groovy!"    Hahaha.  I love it.  I hope he does.

Thank You Bear

I'm just going to get right to it.  Nothing really new to say other than  another challenge card.  I started with the sketch of Everything But The Kitchen Sink Challenge #17.  So simple but those are the great ones - that way you can add what ever extra you'd like.  I did it with the ribbon on the bottom.  I also went with two challenges for the color scheme.  The were very much alike.  The Colour Q Challenge #37 and Crazy 4 Challenge #41
I have had this PollyCraft Digi Image and think it is sooooo cute.  I loved it and I have no idea why it has taken me so long to use it.  Thank you PollyCraft for the freebie.

This card isn't for anyone at this time but who doesn't need to have a good Thank You card at the drop of a hat.  So now I have one.

Summer Fun

Hope everyone has a great weekend.  We had the most amazing weather here in AZ.  Last week it had gotten up to around 110 deg. but this weekend it was in the low 90's.  I know what some of you are thinking .,. 90! that's not nice.. but really it is.  We have no humity here so it is perfect weather.

Summer inspired me to make a "SUMMER FUN" card.  All the paper are bits and pieces of paper that I couldn't give you names of.  I hate to waist so I use up all the pieces I can.  The border punch is from the American Girl line.  LOL   I'll buy anything that catches my eye.  The popsicles and the flip-flops are from the .99 cent bin.  Stamps by a company called Snag'em Stamps.  They were stocking stuffers that I thought I'd never use but hey.. they are great little stamps. Mr. Sun is from Craft Lounge,  It is just one of a set called Sunshine Cheer..  Colored all the items with Copic and Prisma pencils.  Added some glitter on Mr. Sun.  Punched little bitty flowers and added them onto the flip-flops.  I had this sticker that is a motion sticker.  Standing still it just shows little suns.  Move it and it says Summer Fun!

Challenges:

I've got a BONE to pick with you!

Well first where are my bloggers to to help me with my Score Board - Martha Stewart!

Next.. take a look at my free hand bone I drew and cut out.  I think I did a pretty good job if I say so myself.  My BFF son's birthday is coming up and maybe I might be giving him this birthday card.  Unless between now and then something else pops up.. whoooo knowwwwss..  The birthday Pup is from Inky Antics, a set called Delightful Dogs #1.  Soooo cute images.. and set #2 also is great.  I have that one also.  You'll see soon.  I stamped him twice and popped his head up.  The little card that he is holding is blank and I stamped the Birthday Wishes on it.  I used a sponge and Memento ink to create some demension on the bone.  It's real light I hope you can tell.

Well I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Calling all Bloggers..

I'm calling all my fellow bloggers for some help.  I just bought Martha Stewart Scoring Board.

What you don't see in the picture - look in the corner of the package there was a plastic tryangle that you use for making envelopes.  It has mesurements on it and you slide it in the corner to assist you in the scoring of your envelope.  What's special about this score board, that little square has it's own little home, it slides in the bottom of the score tool. Maybe Mar-Fa had so many calls that it got lost that she made a home for it.  LOL I thought that was so great.  Now the score tool also has a home.  At the top there is a flip door and it holds the tool.  It also has a sticker that tells you the dimensions of how to make cards and boxes.  Sooooo helpful.  What can I say I was so excited that I tore into it as soon as I got it home.. then thought now what.. I have no idea what I'm doing so I am CALLING ON ALL MY PEERS HERE FOR HEP!
I know there are a ton of you out there that own this and have played with it enough to have come up all sorts of  tips **** tricks **** info ****   please let me know.. I need all the hep I can get.

Father's Day Card

Went this afternoon to the chain craft store "M" and found this fish stamp.  It's by Inkadinkado.  It really isn't my kind of stamp but for some reason it kept calling my name so I bought it.  I decieded once I got home that I would make a Father's Day card for my son to give to his dad.  We have been divorced for over 15 years but I thought it would be nice for my son to give to him.  So again I start looking though my challenges cuz God for bid I could come up with a card all on my own.  hehehe.  So I found CPS-169 Sketch.  It was simple but perect for the image.  Then since I colored the Big Mouth... no not me. the fish, green I had in mind the colors I wanted to use.  Browns, greens, and blues.  Stamping 411 #126 color challenge worked out perfect.  Got the card together and something was missing.  I had even taken the picture already to post and it just wasn't right.  It need something else but I can't put flowers on it.. or buttons.. it needed something to do with the fish and it hit me.  I need a big hook.  I was going to make one out of a paperclip and I remembered I still have my dad's tackle box.  My father passed over 16 years ago but I just can't make myself get rid of it.  Anyway.. found this giant hook and as much as I wanted to leave it sharp (just by chance he stuck himself.. hehehe.. I am soooo bad.. NOOOOOOO Never would I want that!)  *Wink* I got some wire cutters and clipped the very tip off so it isn't sharp.  I noticed Little Red Wagon #31 Challenge - Alter an emelishment. I figured what about making your own?  I guess we'll see.  I think that counts don't you all?

Three other challenges for Fathers Day Men/Boys Cards:
Sweet Stampin Challenge #29
Simon Says Stamps Challenge - Fathers Day Card
One Stitch At A Time Challenge #16

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Tell your friends how you feel

When you have a great friend don't forget to let them know how much they mean to you.

Ive had this stamp for a while but had not used it until last night when I made this card.  She is soo cute holding on to her best freind for life and FAT Cat doesn't look like he/she is going anywhere.  The stamp is from Art Impressions.  All it says on it is K-1923 so I don't know if that's the order # but it doesn't have a name.  I stamped her and colored her with my prismas then looked through my challenges to see what would fit.  I really liked the sketch from The Sweet Stop SSS59 and it worked so well for what I had in mind.  Then I went looking for the colors that matched and went with the colors I colored her coat.  I really love that color blue.   I got lucky that the Cute Card Thursday Challenge #15 and Color Throwdown #95 both had colors that were very close and I made work into the card.  The Corrosive Challenge #67 wants us to use Die Cuts this challenge and so it worked perfect for her background.  Last but certainly not least Pile it On Challenge this week was PERFECT for me.  QUIRKEY!!!!   If that's not me I don't know what is.  I love my cartoonish stamps and making crazy cards.    I'll save this card for my mom to give, just for no reason, to her best friend at some time.  You have to let them know how much they mean just for no reason at all.  Put a smile on someone's face just because.

Friends make life blossom

Happy Saturday everyone!  Well summer is definitely here, it is going to be about 110 today. So unless you have a pool you stay inside today.

Well another card for another special friend.  I used The Skipping Stones Design Sketch #26  As soon as I saw this sketch I knew I wanted to make a gate card.  Love these designs and this one worked perfect.  I had just bought this stamp from Whipper Snapper - Hugo.  He is sooooo cute.  I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it.  It is just my style whimsical and kookie, a caricature just like me.  Anyway I got my color inspiration from the ColourQ Challenge #35

I embossed the sentiment in orange.  The sentiment stamp is from - wow I looked all over the stamp and there is nothing written on it at all.  I wish I could tell you where I got it from but I have had it for a while and can't tell you.   Hugo I colored with my copics and then used Martha Stewart Green Flock on him.  I glued the flock with Glossy Accents.  I am sure you can tell I used my Nesties and also pierced around the cut out.  Just a little extra.  The card stock is very hard to tell but it is green bazzill, the DP is orange from a pack called Flower Shower of DCWV.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKED ALL

It's a HOOT!

Good Afternoon everyone.. happy Wednesday!   Wow I love weeks that start with a holiday, we are already 1/2 way to the weekend again.

I wanted to share with everyone a card I made last night for a friends birthday coming up this Sat.  I've had this stamp for a little while.  It was one of my last buys from Addicted.  It is a Penny Black stamp.  I am using CPS #169 Sketch this time.  At first it really threw me for a loop on what to do with the sketch but then it all came together when I ran into the sentiment stamp - "Owl be thinking of you today"    I decieded to stamp the sentiment on the circle and have it turn to read the saying.
So as you turn the wheel you read the sentiment.
My color combo came from Dancing in Pajamas Challenge #112 - Plum, Vanilla, Chocolate.  I wish the picture was better so you could really see the colors better.  I love purple/plum so I jumped on this color combo.  Now brown isn't really one of my favorites but it worked great for Mr. Owl.  It also worked for the Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #22 - Least & Most favorite colors together and Critter Sketch Challenge #16 - Purple with flowers.
Here are three other challenges I'll submit to:

Well, I think I might be getting back into the groove of things. That is very good cuz I hate not feeling like stamping.. it's like a bad flu bug you just want to get over.

Big Mamma just wants to thank everyone that stops by and comments.  I love hearing good or bad what is on your mind.  Please if you ever see something that would have worked better on one of my creation please don't ever, ever not say something.  I need all the ideas I can get and that's what I'm here for to learn and get from all my fellow crafters..
